European members of The Association of Deposit and Return Systems for recycling of beverages packaging in Europe (DRS) will already be compliant with EPR legislation by 2023. EU members of DRS are an EPR scheme for the beverage packaging covered in their deposit system.
The EPR legislation mandates that deposit systems established before 4th of July 2018 need to comply with the rules regarding EPR by January 2023.
